‘The centre reflects our commitment to excellence, innovation, and responsible stewardship of nanoscience and nanotechnology, and guide our efforts to make a meaningful contribution to society through various academic programmes and translational research’ – IIUCNN

DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas , Director

“Mahatma Gandhi University established the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IIUCNN) to conduct groundbreaking research in the field of nanotechnology. Our initial focus was on pure research, but over time, we have expanded our scope to include both research and teaching.

IIUCNN has always been dedicated to fostering collaboration between academia and industry. We provide a platform for researchers from both sectors to exchange ideas and explore potential partnerships. Additionally, we encourage our scholars to engage in applied research projects that have the potential to lead to innovative products and technologies.

Our research aims include:

  • Developing novel nanomaterials and devices with diverse applications.
  • Advancing our understanding of the fundamental properties of nanomaterials.
  • Addressing societal challenges through nanotechnology-based solutions.
  • Cultivating a new generation of nanotechnology experts.

By pursuing these goals, IIUCNN strives to make significant contributions to the field of nanotechnology and to improve the quality of life for people around the world.”
